Introducing AH Massage Therapy at Mobley Family Chiropractic
Hi, my name is Ann Horrocks.
After several years of working as a massage therapist at a day spa, I decided to follow my true passion which is to focus on a more therapeutic way of healing.
While going to massage therapy school, I adopted the founder of the school’s philosophy of 'Healing One Body at a Time.'
The foundation of this philosophy is honesty, awareness, and compassion. It is this philosophy that AH Massage Therapy is based upon. Here, I specialize in restoration, pain management, energy work, preventative care, and relaxation.
My services include: Therapeutic massage, Swedish massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, trigger point therapy, reiki, and cranio sacral therapy.
Your body works hard for you every day! Return the favor! Make an appointment, relax and say AH!!!!

Services Offered
Relaxation (Swedish) Massage
Swedish Massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses.
Therapeutic Massage
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Therapeutic massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the therapist often uses medium/firm pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. Unlike Swedish massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, therapeutic massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as:
- Chronic pain
- Limited mobility
- Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)
- Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
- Postural problems
- Osteoarthritis pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Muscle tension or spasm
Deep Tissue Massage
For those with chronic stress points that require a deep pressure. Deep pressure stimulates circulation, relieves tension and enhances flexibility. May incorporate trigger point work, cross fiber friction, myofacial or neuro-muscular techniques.
Sports Massage
A sports-specific massage customized to treat the muscles used in a particular activity. Various techniques such as muscle stripping, cross fiber friction, range of motion stretching and compression are used to release excess tension and increase flexibility of sports-specific muscles. This treatment will stimulate circulation, relieve muscle soreness and re-energize the body as well as shorten recovery time and help prevent injuries. For athletes of all levels.
Cranio-sacral Therapy (CST)
By bringing the body into still points, melting tensions and minutely adjusting the bones of the head, tensions are released from the membranes of the head and spine. The touch is feather light. Deep relaxation occurs, pain patterns dissolve and old injuries lose their grip. CST seeks to restore misaligned bones to their proper position and is thought to eliminate the negative effects of stress as well as provide relief from migraines, neck and back pain, TMJ, and more.
Reiki Treatment
A 3,000 year old Japanese energy method that promotes relaxation and healing. Felt as warm or hot hands on the tense areas of the body, this technique melts away stresses, aches and pains. It also creates a sense of renewal, balance and well-being.
